* To donate for the first time you must be at least 17 years old and younger than 71, in general good health,
and feeling well on the day of your donation. You must be assessed by a physician if you have never donated before and have had

How do I sign-up to get more information about donation?
Our online registration form makes it quick and easy to sign-up - it only takes a couple of minutes. Please be assured that all of your information will be kept private and confidential.

What happens after I've signed up?
Following registration, you will receive periodic emails from Canadian Blood services. By signing up to learn more you will get
information about how the donation process works, how blood is used, read first-hand accounts of patients whose lives have been saved by blood
donations, and find out where to donate. You do not have to donate blood now. Registering for these emails simply allows you to receive more
information and become inspired to make your first blood donation.

Can I register by phone?
This particular program is an online program that requires a valid e-mail address. If you do not have a valid e-mail address and are
interested in saving or improving the lives of Canadians, we encourage you to call 1 888 2 DONATE (1-888-236-6283) to find out more about blood
donation and/or to book an appointment to donate.

What will you do with my contact information? Is it kept private?
Canadian Blood Services keeps all of your personal information private and confidential; we will only use it for our future
communications with you.

Can I stop receiving these emails anytime?
By registering your name, you are simply indicating that you would like to receive more information about blood donation. However, any
communications you receive from Canadian Blood Services will include an option to be removed from receiving any future communications.

Is this program available across Canada?
Anyone living in Canada, excluding Quebec, who has not donated blood before in Canada and wants to learn more about blood donation can
sign-up to get more information. Canadian Blood Services manages the blood system in all of Canada except Quebec where the blood system is operated by
Héma-Québec. Quebec residents should contact Héma-Québec about blood donation.

If I am not eligible or ready to donate right now, can I still sign up?
Yes, you can still sign up. If you are not 17 years of age yet, you will receive an introductory email and we will send more information
as you get closer to your birthday. If you are over 71 years of age and have never donated before, you can still receive the information but you will
be unable to donate.
We encourage all Canadians who have not donated before, but are interested in learning more about blood donation to sign-up to
receive these emails. If you would like to speak to someone about your eligibility, please call 1 888 2 DONATE (1-888-236-6283) and speak to a member
f our medical staff. We also have some eligibility information on our website.
